A Pakistan Visit Visa is a short-term, non-immigrant visa issued to foreign nationals who wish to enter Pakistan for purposes such as tourism, visiting family and friends, attending business meetings, conferences, or seeking medical treatment. It does not permit the holder to take up employment or engage in business operations in Pakistan. The visa is typically granted for 1 to 3 months with single or multiple entry options, depending on the applicant’s nationality and purpose of visit.
There are three main categories: Tourist Visit Visa for travel and sightseeing, Family Visit Visa for visiting relatives in Pakistan which requires an Invitation Letter and proof of relationship, and Business Visit Visa for trade meetings and professional engagements which requires an invitation from a Pakistani company. For legal support with visa filing, documentation, extensions, and/or rejections, The Case Lawyer provides assistance to ensure a smooth and compliant visa process.
The Case Lawyer provides legal support for Pakistan Visit Visa Services including visa application filing, documentation, invitation letters, visa extensions, overstay resolution, and rejection appeals.
Navigating Pakistan’s visa rules can be complex because requirements change by nationality, embassy, and visa type. Multiple authorities are involved — Ministry of Interior, NADRA, FIA Immigration, and the Pakistani Embassy. The Case Lawyer provides end-to-end legal support to make your Pakistan Visit Visa process fast, compliant, and rejection-free. Here is a detailed breakdown of our services:
1. Invitation Letter Drafting & Attestation
The Invitation Letter is the most critical document for Family and Business Visit Visas. A weak or generic letter is a top reason for rejection.
What we do:
We tailor each letter to match the applicant’s profile and the specific embassy’s expectations in the US, UK, Canada, EU, and GCC.
2. Complete Document Review & Visa Application Filing Support
Before we submit your file for obtaining visa to Pakistan, we conduct a full legal review.
What we do:
This reduces delays and increases approval chances on the first attempt.
3. Visa Extension Services in Pakistan
A standard Visit Visa is granted for 1-3 months. If you need to stay longer for family events, medical treatment, or business, you must apply for an extension before expiry.
What we do:
We ensure the extension is filed legally so you don’t face issues during exit or future travel.
4. Overstay Resolution & Exit Permit Assistance
Overstaying a Pakistan Visit Visa can lead to fines, blacklisting, and problems at the airport.
What we do:
We handle this discreetly and quickly to minimize disruption.
5. Visa Rejection Appeal & Reapplication Support
If your Pakistan Visit Visa is rejected due to incomplete documents, unclear purpose, or security clearance, you have options.
What we do:
We also handle cases stuck in “security clearance” by following up with relevant authorities.
6. Advisory for Complex Cases
Some cases need extra legal strategy:

A Pakistan Visit Visa application requires both general documents and category-specific supporting documents. The Pakistan Online Visa System and Pakistani Embassies review each file to confirm the purpose of visit, financial capacity, and ties to the home country. Incomplete or incorrect documents are the most common reason for delays and rejections.
1. Main Documents Required for All Applicants
These are mandatory regardless of whether you are applying for Tourist, Family, or Business Visit Visa.
Personal Information: You need to provide your personal information including but not limited to yourself, parents, siblings, spouse and children which information may include their name, date of birth, citizenship, and residential addresses etc.
Valid Passport: Your passport must be original, with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry into Pakistan and a minimum of 2 blank pages for visa stamps. A clear photocopy of the data page must also be submitted.
Passport-Size Photographs: Two recent photographs with a white background. Specifications vary by mission but 35x45mm is the standard.
Return Flight Ticket & Travel Itinerary: This shows your intended dates of entry and exit. Immigration authorities want proof that you will leave Pakistan before your visa expires.
Proof of Financial Means: Bank statements for the last 3 to 6 months are required to demonstrate you can cover accommodation, food, and travel expenses during your stay. For sponsored visits, the host’s financial documents may also be requested.
Visa Fee Payment Receipt: The fee depends on nationality and visa duration. Keep the payment slip for submission.
2. Additional Documents by Visa Category
A. Family Visit Visa
This is for individuals visiting parents, children, siblings, or other close relatives in Pakistan. The most important document is the Invitation Letter from the host in Pakistan. It must include the host’s full name, CNIC number, address, contact details, purpose of visit, and duration. The letter should be signed and accompanied by a copy of the host’s CNIC.
You must also provide Proof of Relationship such as NADRA Family Registration Certificate, birth certificate, or marriage certificate. Some embassies ask for a Sponsorship Affidavit from the host, attested by a Notary Public in Pakistan, confirming they will take responsibility for the visitor during their stay.
B. Business Visit Visa
This is for professionals attending meetings, conferences, trade fairs, or exploring investment opportunities. You need an Invitation Letter from a registered Pakistani company, chamber of commerce, or business partner. The letter should be on company letterhead, state the purpose and duration of visit, and be signed by an authorized person.
You also need a Letter from Your Employer Abroad confirming your job title, purpose of travel, duration, and who will bear expenses. Supporting documents include the NTN Certificate and Company Registration of the inviting Pakistani company, and any prior business correspondence like emails or MoUs.
C. Tourist Visit Visa
For tourism and sightseeing. Along with basic documents, you must submit Hotel Bookings for your entire stay or a letter from a sponsoring person in Pakistan. A Detailed Travel Itinerary listing cities and attractions you plan to visit is important.
For certain nationalities, a Tour Operator Confirmation from a registered Pakistani travel agency is mandatory. Travel Insurance is not always required but is strongly recommended.
3. Other Supporting Documents
Depending on the visa catergory, you may also need;
1. Previous Pakistan Visas – copies if you have visited before
2. Medical Certificate and Doctor’s Letter – for Medical Visit Visa
3. Security Clearance Form – required for nationals of certain countries. This is processed by the Ministry of Interior and can extend processing to 6-8 weeks.
The processing time for a Pakistan Visit Visa is not fixed and mainly depends on three things;
For most applicants, the standard processing time is 7 to 15 working days. During this period, the embassy reviews your application form, verifies your passport and financial documents, and checks the Invitation Letter and details of your host in Pakistan. Once approved, the visa is issued and stamped in your passport.
However, for certain nationalities, or if the embassy finds the case needs further review, the application is sent to the Ministry of Interior in Pakistan for security clearance. In such cases the processing time extends to 4 to 8 weeks. This is common for applicants from India, Israel, and some countries in Africa and the Middle East, but the requirement can apply to anyone if the documents are unclear or the purpose of visit needs verification. Even if your country does not usually require clearance, the embassy can still refer your file.
Some Pakistani missions also offer urgent or express processing in 2 to 3 working days for an additional fee. This is usually available for Family Visit Visas with complete documentation and no security clearance. Business and Tourist visas may also qualify for urgent processing if you provide proof of urgent travel, such as confirmed flight tickets and a letter explaining the reason for urgency.
If you are already in Pakistan and need to stay longer, you can apply for a Visa Extension through the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports or your local Regional Passport Office. This is typically processed within 5 to 10 working days. Cases involving medical treatment or humanitarian reasons can sometimes be expedited.
The Case Lawyer assists clients by preparing embassy-compliant documents from the start, drafting strong Invitation Letters, and following up with immigration authorities if your case is delayed or stuck in clearance, so you get a decision as quickly as possible.
Pakistan welcomes thousands of foreign visitors every year for tourism, business, family events, and medical treatment. While most visits are smooth, being in a new country can sometimes raise legal and administrative concerns. That is why The Case Lawyer provides dedicated protection and legal support to foreign visitors during their entire stay in Pakistan.
The first form of protection we offer is compliance and documentation support. Many issues visitors face come from misunderstandings about visa rules, overstay penalties, or registration requirements. We ensure your Pakistan Visit Visa is obtained and maintained correctly. If your visa is about to expire, we file for a legal extension before the deadline so you do not face fines or immigration problems. If you accidentally overstay, we represent you before FIA Immigration and the Passport Office to resolve the matter, pay fines, and obtain an Exit Permit so you can leave Pakistan without a travel ban or future blacklisting.
We also provide protection in case of legal disputes or emergencies. Foreign visitors can sometimes face issues such as lost passports, rental disputes, issues with hotels or tour operators, or misunderstandings with local authorities. As your legal representatives, we coordinate with police, embassies, and relevant government departments on your behalf. We ensure you are treated fairly and that your rights as a foreign national are protected under Pakistani law. In urgent cases, we can arrange legal representation within 24 hours.
Another important area is coordination with host and sponsor protection. For visitors coming on a Family or Business Visit Visa, the host in Pakistan has certain responsibilities. We draft legally sound Invitation Letters and Sponsorship Affidavits that clearly outline this responsibility. This protects both the visitor and the host if questions are raised by immigration authorities. We also guide hosts on how to properly register a foreign guest with local authorities where required, which helps avoid unnecessary police inquiries.
For business visitors, we provide contract and meeting protection. If you are in Pakistan for meetings, trade, or investment, we can review agreements, MoUs, and business invitations to ensure they comply with Pakistani law. This reduces the risk of disputes later. We also advise on what activities are permitted on a Visit Visa and what would require a different visa category, so you remain fully compliant.
Finally, we offer 24/7 advisory support. Many concerns come up outside office hours — a missed flight, a document issue at the airport, or a sudden need to extend a stay. Our team provides guidance so you know exactly what steps to take and who to contact. Our goal is to make sure your stay in Pakistan is safe, legal, and stress-free.
At The Case Lawyer, we believe that legal protection is part of hospitality. Whether you are visiting family, exploring Pakistan as a tourist, or coming for business, we are here to make sure your rights are protected and your visit is completed without legal hurdles.
Hosting a foreign guest in Pakistan comes with responsibility. Beyond the visa, visitors need support with daily logistics, security, accommodation, and legal matters. At The Case Lawyer, we provide full stay management for foreign visitors so their trip to Pakistan is safe, comfortable, and free from legal complications.
The first part of our service is managing the visitor’s stay from arrival to departure. We coordinate with the host in Pakistan to ensure all immigration requirements are met. This includes airport facilitation, guidance on customs and immigration procedures, and assistance with local registration where required. If the visit needs to be extended, we file for a legal visa extension with the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports well before the expiry date. For any overstay issues, we handle FIA clearance and Exit Permits so the visitor can leave without fines or future travel bans.
Security and safe travel is another key concern for foreign visitors. We arrange secure travel plans and coordinate safe accommodation in line with the purpose of visit. Whether the guest is traveling between cities for tourism, business meetings, or family events, we advise on safe routes, provide contact points, and help coordinate with local authorities if needed. For business delegations and high-profile visitors, we can also assist with liaison for protocol and security arrangements through proper channels. Our goal is to ensure the visitor feels secure at every location they visit in Pakistan.
We also manage travel and accommodation arrangements as part of legal compliance. A clear travel itinerary and confirmed hotel bookings are often required by embassies during the visa process. During the stay, we help maintain proper records of where the visitor is staying. This protects both the visitor and the host from unnecessary inquiries by authorities. For long stays, we assist with rental agreements and ensure the accommodation terms are legally sound.
Legal dispute resolution is where our role becomes most important. Visitors may face unexpected issues such as lost passports, rental disagreements, problems with hotels or service providers, or misunderstandings with local offices. We act as legal representatives and handle these matters directly. We coordinate with police, embassies, and government departments to protect the rights of the visitor under Pakistani law. In case of contracts, business meetings, or financial transactions, we review documents to ensure they are valid and enforceable in Pakistan.
At The Case Lawyer, we treat visitor protection as a complete service. From managing the visa and stay, to ensuring security during travel, to resolving any legal dispute that may arise, we handle everything so the host and guest can focus on the purpose of the visit.
